The Inter-School Challenge Cup consists of 6 competitions namely,Basketball Retroball, Adventure Race, Badminton, Innerbandy (Floorball), Run Team Runabout, Ultimate Grab Hcuk Score, Sharks Get Wet, Le Basi Soccer and Patron’s Day Tug of War. Points will be accumulated when teams from the different faculties come in top 3 for the competitions. 10 points will be awarded to the champions of each competition, whilst the 2nd will be awarded 8 points. 3rd placed teams will receive 6. 4th get 5 while the 5th and 6th each receive 2 points.

A signature event of SMU’s Patron’s Day, the inter-school tug-of-war challenge sees the various faculties tug it out at the campus green. Teams are usually formed by 8 participants, of which at least 3 must be girls.

Retroball is SMU Basketball’s interfaculty challenge. Held in the SMU Sports hall, the tournament is held over 2 Fridays with the winners and runners up from the group stage proceed on to the Semis and Finals on the following Friday.Teams are made up of 12 with at least 2 female participants.

SMU’s day out at the beach, the Waikiki is held on the Saturday during Term 2’s recess week. Organised by the SSU, the Waikiki will feature not only different sports but also a pageant and a beach party too. So chuck your books and join the school in a day of fun at Sentosa! |

SMU’s very own climbing competition, this year’s Gravical saw, for the first time, participants doing bouldering instead of the traditional rock-wall climbing. Teams are usually in fours, with at least 1 female participant.

The MR500 is an annual Dragonboat competition organized by SMU’s Dragonboat team. The SMU inter-school Dragonboat race is an intense sprint event formed by 15 students from the various faculties in SMU. The event is traditionally held on the weekends over at Bedok Reservoir. |

Organised by SMUX, the SMU AdRace will see participants racing over distances ranging from 25km to 35km. An endurance race, teams consisting of 4 members, of whom at least 1 is a female, will travel to different parts of the island, clearing different stations and challenges along the way. |

SMU Runabout is a running competition organized SMU’s Run Team. This relay race is traditionally held in the SMU concourse and it’s the perfect opportunity for students to practice running from one end of the school to the other while rushing for lectures.
The inaugural badminton tournament organized by SMU’s badminton team. This will be the first year that Badminton will be included in the SMU interfaculty challenge trophy. |

Le Basi is SMU’s very own inter-school soccer tournament. The first stage of the competition will be in round robin format. Semis and Finals will be in knock-out format. Team ASoc has won both Le Basi competitions since it started in 2007. We will be looking to defend our title yet again. Do stay tune for more Le Basi updates! |
